Bhagwati Bhattarai

Ms. Bhagwati Bhattarai Baral is the team captain of Nepalese national blind women cricket team. In her captainship Nepalese blind women cricket team has won two international series against U.K in 2014 and against Pakistan in 2019 respectively. Born in Shyanja District in 1990. Bhagwati is a low vision since her birth, thus she represents herself in a team from b3 category. She started to play cricket at the age of fourteen when she was in grade seven at School, Pokhara.

As of now she has played over seven domestic tournaments and her team has become national winner thrice.  In a state when other woman with visual impairments are finding difficult to thrive in a society, Bhagwati feels proud to be a cricket player and set an example to millions of women with visual impairments across the globe. Her continuous service to cricket since 12 years proves her passion and love to the great game of cricket.

She is also the recipient of Blind talent award for the year 2010 and has received several honors from Government and private sectors. Now she is a mother of two children and a teacher at a Government school.   CAB, Nepal feels proud to honor her as the player of the month of August.
